EXPERT WITNESS CONSULTINGJamie Leigh Bassos

I am Jamie Bassos M.S, BCBA, LBA, ACC, dedicated expert witness and consultant providing clear, evidence-based insights for family law, education law, disability rights, and other legal cases involving behavioral health and child development.  I have dedicated my career to supporting children, families and professionals in the autism and behavioral health field.

As a Board Certified Behavior Analyst with a Masters of Science in Applied behavior Analysis from Northeastern University and over two decades of experience in behavioral health, I have worked alongside countless families navigating the complex educational, clinical and social systems.

My experience has given me a deep understanding of autism and human behavior, as well as the unique ability to explain it clearly, objectively and compassionately in a courtroom.  Attorneys and judges rely on me to translate clinical data and real-world observations into testimony that is both scientifically grounded and accessible.

My mission is simple: bring clarity and expertise into family law cases where questions of parenting, child development, and behavioral needs are critical. By combining decades of hands-on work in the autism space with executive leadership expertise, I help courts and legal teams make decisions that truly serve the best interest of the children and their families.

Unlocking Potential Together My Expert Witness Philosophy and Approach

At Bassos Consulting, I believe that families and courts deserve testimony that is both credible and compassionate. Legal cases involving children with autism or developmental needs are often complex, emotional, and deeply personal. My role as an expert witness is to provide clear, evidence-based insight that helps attorneys, judges, and families make informed decisions in the best interests of the child.

With over two decades in the autism and behavioral health field, I’ve worked closely with children, parents, educators, and clinicians. This experience allows me to not only analyze data and behavior objectively, but also to explain it in a way that is accessible and meaningful in the courtroom. Every case is unique, and I tailor my evaluations, reports, and testimony to address the specific needs and questions at hand.

My Philosophy

My philosophy uses the science of behavior to uncover the truth and serve the child’s best interest.

By applying principles of ABA, developmental psychology, and decades of clinical practice, I help courts understand:

  • A child’s developmental and behavioral profile
  • How family dynamics and parenting practices impact progress
  • Whether services, interventions, or accommodations are appropriate and effective
  • What supports will foster stability, growth, and well-being

This science-based lens ensures that testimony is not only objective but also practically grounded in real-world application and years of hands-on experience with children and families.
